muSCOPE
muSCOPE is a private data portal for microbial ‘omic data sets and data products produced in association with Hawaii Ocean Time-series (HOT), the Center for Microbial Oceanography: Research and Education (C-MORE), and the Simons Collaboration on Ocean Processes and Ecology (SCOPE).
Data sets hosted through muSCOPE focus on marine microbial communities inhabiting the largest ecosystem on Earth – the North Pacific Subtropical Gyre. Samples are typically collected in/around Station ALOHA (A Long-Term Oligotrophic Habitat Assessment; 22.75 N, 158.0 W) located 100 km north of O‘ahu, Hawai‘i, in conjunction with HOT, C-MORE, and SCOPE cruises. Monthly oceanographic measurements by HOT began at Station ALOHA in October 1988, providing a long–term environmental context for biological sampling and analyses. For more information regarding this program, please visit the HOT website.
Biological data sets available through muSCOPE are linked to their associated environmental and oceanographic data at the time of collection. This allows for easy retrieval of data sets matching defined parameters, such as GPS coordinates, time, temperature, depth, and a variety of other associated environmental and oceanographic parameters.
The muSCOPE data are available as a private data resource in iMicrobe through the SCOPE group. The original site has been deprecated. As the datasets are published, they are released to primary data repositories such as EBI/NCBI.
